Serena Williams lashes Potapova to cling first Australian Open win


23 Grand Slam titles holder, Serena Williams on Monday had an impressive win against Russia’s Anastasia Potapova at the Australian Open, Melbourne Park.

Williams, who is vying for her record 24th Grand Slam singles title needed less than an hour to crush her opponent. Serena won the first set in 19 minutes completing a 6-0, 6-3 win over the teenager then ultimately completed a 6-0, 6-3 win over 18-year-old Potapova.

The 38-year-old former No. 1 player in the world played Fast Four doubles at the event that helped raise nearly $5million.
