Sanwo-Olu launches ‘HelpNow’ to reduce COVID-19 effects on Lagosians


Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state has launched a social intervention platform know as HelpNow aimed at alleviating two million poor and vulnerable in the state.

Sanwo-Olu who disclosed this on twitter said HelpNow is geared towards mitigating the debilitating effects of COVID19 on the income of Lagosians.

The Governor said the platform will assist government in rendering required support to the people are affected by the effect of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to him, “I was at the launch of HelpNow, a social intervention platform aimed at supporting two million Lagosians with the help of well-meaning individuals & organisations. HelpNow is geared towards mitigating the debilitating effects of #COVID19 on the income of Lagosians.

“The role of technology in addressing the socio-economic challenges today is very important and incontrovertible. This is why technology is a critical component of our #THEMES agenda. We are determined to leverage technology and its innovations to make governance easier.

“With the launch of HelpNow, we have a platform that aggregates support for government’s efforts at alleviating the suffering of the poor and vulnerable in our society. I commend SoftCom Limited and their partners for their ingenuity and thoughtfulness”. Sanwo-Olu added.
