Police exposes culprits who razed Sunday Igboho’s Ibadan residence

The Ibadan residence of Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho was on Tuesday razed by fire barely three days after he led youths to chase Fulani herdsmen from Igangan, Ibarapa, Oyo State.

Igboho had earlier in the month issued a seven-day ultimatum to herders in Igangan, Ibarapa, Oyo State, to vacate the town accusing them of being culpable in the strings of kidnappings and killings carried out in and around the town.

Igboho and his followers proceeded to eject the Fulani leader of Igangan, Salihu Abdukadir accusing the Fulani leader of harbouring criminal herders who were kidnapping and killing residents of the community.

Abdukadir denied the allegations, stating that some members of his community have also been victims of the attacks and kidnappings trailing the community.

Some houses and cars were burnt in the process of evicting Abdukadir from the community.

Reacting to the incident, the Oyo State Police Command said hoodlums loaded in a bus and taxi razed the residence of Yoruba activist.

Oyo Police spokesman, Olugbenga Fadeyi, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.

He said the police had begun an investigation into the incident.

The house was said to have been burnt around 3 am on Tuesday after the power supply to the area was cut off.
